I've been married for 16yrs now on June 14th (Flag Day). I have 2 wonderful daughters ages 10 and 12. I'm originally from San Diego, I've been in Colorado for 12 yrs now. Love it, just miss the beach. I have a twin sister who's also into stamping and quilting. I've been stamping for over 14 years now. I'm also an avid quilter for 25yrs. My mom took my twin sister and I to our first quilting/sewing class when we were 18yrs old and I've been making quilts ever since. My other hobby besides crafting is being on our Harley with my husband.
I was given a couple of these cute turtles from a swap I participate in on Face Book. I wanted to create something using the turtle, this is what I came up with. The card is 5 x 7 because the turtle was a tad big for the standard A2 card. I used the Martha Stewart Border Fence Punch & My Favorite Things tall grass die, but ended up cutting the grass. I added clouds using my new dies from Joy Crafts.
My 1st Building Block Card. I found the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers, very easy to do. I received these lovely Tattered Lace Owl Die Cuts from a nice lady in the United Kingdom. I papers I used are Georgia Pacific White card stock & the decorative papers are GCD Studios in which I bought at Tuesday Morning. I did the alphabets on the Cricut with the Basic Shape cartridge.
I decided to try & make my 1st tag, a spring tag in the middle of winter. Can you tell I want winter to be over with? My tag measures 6 1/4 X 3 1/8. I used a window I received from a swap, I used the Martha Stewart Lace Border punch for curtains. I then ran a piece of GP white card stock through the Brick embossing folder & added a vine of adhesive flowers. I made my own grass just by snipping some green card stock, used the Martha Stewart Picket Fence Border Punch on brown card stock. I added the Spellbinders Whimsical Tree, added flowers then added a cat button to sit outside the fence. I punched a Martha Stewart butterfly then added pearls. The green decorative paper is by American Crafts.
