I've been needing to make new quilts for my 2 daughters. I started with my youngest daughter Erin who will be 5yrs old in 2 weeks. I took her and myself to Joanns, I let Erin pick out her fabric and I was surprised of what colors she picked. She said she really liked the browns, pinks and creams together. The only part I chose was the tone on tone cream fabric. I think she did a pretty good job.
All fabrics are 100% cotton. This quilt is called Log Cabin by Eleanor Burns. It took about 16hrs to make with the help of my husband. As I was sewing the strips, he would cut the strips and press. My daughter wanted to help so after each strip was sewn, she handed the strips to my husband so he could cut, now she could tell people that she helped making her new quilt for her bed. I'm going to take my older daughter Kaitlyn who just turned 6yrs old to Joanns this weekend so she could pick out her own fabric too.
I really wanted to make a special card for one of our customers who also is a great guy for his birthday.
I started with burgundy bazzill cs as the base. I layered with mustard bazzill cs. I also layered with Bo-Bunny Press Spicy Circles dp, ran it through the CB circle folder. I stamped the image with black stazon on white watercolor paper. I stamped the basket first, then masked it and stamped the birds eye behind it. I colored with primascolor pencils, blending stumps and mineral spirits. I stamped the sentiment with black stazon. The two main layers are raised with 3D squares. I then attached an olive ribbon underneath the layers.
I enjoyed making this card for him and he just loved it when I gave it to him. He's going to put it on his fireplace mantel.

We were right in the middle of a tornado warning and I was just about done with this card....left undone for 20 minutes, came back and glued everything together.
We were suppose to use fabric flowers, but I chose to use a fabric elephant. I used a piece of Thermo Web Fusible Web, ironed the fabric to the opposite of the sticky side, cut out and ironed to black card stock. I also layered with speckle dp and it's attached with 3D squares. The base of the card is basic black cs. I layered with creamy caramel cs, ran it through the CB Distressed Stripes. I used a Top Note shape received from a pen pal of mine. I used the same technique with the fusible web onto safari print fabric. I added an olive felt flower (MM), prima flower and a cream brad for the center to the opposite corners. I enjoyed making this card. I wanted to upload this before I head to bed after the storm we just had. I had fabric left over from making a safari fan quilt last year.
Paper:Basic Black, DCWV Speckle dp, creamy caramel
Accessories:scissors, 3D squares, safari fabric prints, Top Note, CB Distressed Stripes, felt flower (MM), prima flower, medium brads, Thermo Web Fusible Web
We were to choose from Heavenly Hostess Aprons. I chose the apron that had dog newspaper prints.
I started with bazzill sandy colored cs as the base. I layered with black cs and Karen Foster DP Dog News. I stamped the image with black stazon on creamy caramel cs. I sponged the edges with black stazon and layered with the black and sandy cs. I also stamped the phrase with black stazon on creamy caramel cs, used a small oval scallop punch and a medium oval punch on the black cs. It's raised with 2 3D circles. I also added a small bone button underneath the phrase. I thought it needed something else so I had a piece of old fabric strip with a tan button on, taped it onto the black cs. (not sure if I like it)
I decided the image didn't need any coloring so I left it the way it is. This reminds me of my 2 Great Pyrnees dogs that passed away a few years ago. I may put this card in my scrapbook with their pictures by it.
Stamps:Stamp Diego Great Pyrnees stamp, Inkadinkado clear stamps
Accessories:sponge, button, dog bone button, fabric strip, tacky tape, small oval scallop punch, medium oval punch, 3D circle
Paper:Karen Foster Dog Chronicle, bazzill sandy cs, black cs, creamy caramel cs
I started with GP white cs as the base. This is a 5x7 card. I layered with red bazzill cs and blue jean dp from paper pizazz, cut three 2" pieces. I then cut a 2" strip of navy bazzill cs and a strip of white GP cs, ran it through the CB Swiss Dot folder. I then tied a piece of hemp around the strips. The image was given to me by Flowergal36, a RAK friend from splitcoaststampers.
I colored the image with odorless mineral spirits, primascolor pencils and blending stumps. I then sponged around with Night Quite Navy. I layered with the same red bazzill, blue bazzill cs. The image is raised with 3D squares. I then stamped with red stazon the sentiment onto GP white cs, add a self stick star for the center, used my small circle punch and a medium circle punch on the blue bazzill cs. It's also raised with a 3D dot. I cut off the Levi red tag of an old pair of Levis and stuck it by the pocket with tacky tape. Thanks for the inspiration.
It's 12:45am on a work night for me, but I wanted to upload this tonight. I needed to make this for my boss' birthday tomorrow and he's always in Levis.
